Quality: Metal body and very heavy. The only thing I worry about is the AC adapter. I'm not completely confident in its durability, though I've had the unit for over a year with no problems. Value: Nothing comes close for the price. Don't buy into the hype of the DS-1 or Dist+. Desirability: I love this piece of equipment. It could be smaller, though it doesn't take up too much space on my pedal board. Sound: Hard to believe, but one of the best pure distortion pedals on the market today. Take the time to adjust your tone on your amp and pedal, plus an eq if you have one, and this pedal can do everything from distorted blues to massive metal. I bought this for fun when I was shopping for a Marshall Guv'nor. Now it's the only pedal on my board. Support: Non-existent as far as I can tell. No customer support number or email to be found anywhere. I actually have no idea what I was supposed to do if I had a warranty claim. Overall: This is the distortion pedal I've always been looking for. Outstanding value and highly recommended, if you're willing to take the time to work with the effect. Distortion on, distortion off. There are two switches on the thing but it is still basically heavy distortion or nothing. Quality: Here's where the $20.00 pedal differs from the $200.00 one: quality. It needs to be treated pretty carefully to get a long life. (no jumping up and down on the flimsy plastic pedal) When used normally, it should last a long time. (but come on- show me a guitar player thats normal!!!) Value: value is "Amazing" for the sound, "Average" for the physical quality. Desirability: Personally, I like the retro look. I'm cool w/ that. I don't play blues or oldies or any of that crap- i play punk rock mostly but i still like the retro. Sound: The sound of this thing is amazing. It totally blew me away- a sound comparable to a $200.00 effects pedal wrapped up in a $20.00 effects pedal. The sustain was incredible. Ease of Use: Pretty simple: my mom could use this thing. It nails the Univibe sound at a fraction of the price of VooDoo lab or any other Vibe clone out there. Set both knobs about 12:00 and tweak a little from there. Hi-cut? Doesn't do what it seems like it would. Quality: After one gig with this thing (I used it with my Nord Electro 2...shouldn't have bought such a cheap accessory for such a beautiful instrument), I plugged it in a few days later and it immediately made a loud continuous squawking noise through the amp. Even when bypassed I could still faintly hear it. No good! Value: Cheap in $, and cheap in everything else too. Desirability: Just won't do it. Enough said. Sound: This is not a reverb sound, but a scary delay-type of thing. Don't expect Boss- or Lexicon-style reverb at all. Support: Haven't had to, and won't, deal with them. Crap. Better off with a Boss RV-5 stereo reverb pedal. Overall: Not good for what it is, cheap, cheap, and cheap. If you're looking for a pedal get a Boss (especially the RV-5 for keyboard players, it's stereo) or a nice rack unit. It will pay off in the long run because you'll have GOOD REVERB! Three dials for sound tweakability. You can make it sound like a jet's about to emerge from your PA, or keep it nice and subtle. Quality: Some people say these things are "cheap", and that they expect them to break easy. However, most everyone I know that actually owns a few of these little dynamos agrees that these things are a lot tougher than they get credit for. I own 8, and snagged a couple when Dan-o started puting out the mini's a few years ago. I've never had problems with any of them at all. TOUGH, TOUGH, TOUGH. Value: Excellent. Mom, Dad, you want to get your kid some killer sounding effects without taking out a mortgage on the home? GO DAN-O. Desirability: Cool throw-back look, tough like Rocky Marciano. Sound: Great sound. You can modify how you want it to sound by changing the settings of the 3 dials. Support: Never had to use them........thus the 10 Overall: WAY, WAY under-rated and under-utilized pedal(s). Quality: I have had no problems, but these are not boss pedals, so I think they need to be treated with a little TLC if you want them to last. But like I said, no problems so far, I have had them for a few years now and have giged out with them. Value: I think this is an excellent value. To get this many effects in one easy to carry box you would need to buy some kind of modelling device or multifx unit. Well, let me tell you something, if you are onstage you don't have time for menus and presets, you need to be able to grab a knob and turn and know what the effect is going to be. These pedals can help you do that for a reasonable price. That's my take and I am sticking with it! Desirability: It's kind of cool in a cheasy sort of way. Sound: I love this thing! I like dano's modulation effects a lot. For the price of ONE boutique chorus pedal you can have a flanger, phaser, chorus, univibe, and tremolo combination pedal with this board. No all of dano's modulation effects are the best I have ever heard, but they get the job done, don't cost a lot of money, are REAL analog pedals, and they do sound really good! Not bad for 12 years.......It has handled many road trips and thousands of gigs. I think it was once even thrown across a bar and back and still worked fine. The minute you hold this thing you will understand about quality. I will be purchasing another with in a few days. Value: Hummm I'm no math wizard but let's see 1995 I paid $80.00 I think $80.00 divided by 12 years is $6.67 per year or .02 cents a day..... WHAT DO YOU THINK.... I own 4 of them and am in the process of buying some more. However, in my experience, don't buy any that don't come with wheels. Wheels are a MUST! I did break the handle on one, and after contacting the company, they sent me another handle. As far as keyboard protection, I have yet to find a finer case. These cases have protected my keyboards in rain or shine, hot and cold. However, I have found over time that some of the latches do open by themselves and the rubber molding inside the case shell tends to come loose. I find the greatest feature is their stackability, both in the 76 key and 61 key models. However, be very careful of the foam padding. Make sure you put the keyboard in first and fits BEFORE applying the padding. The glue on the padding is extremely strong, and almost impossible to remove once it's in place. Support: When I broke my handle, I contacted the company and they sent me a replacement plastic handle, just like the one I broke. However, on the newer models, which I just received one, the handle was metal surrounded by some padding. A huge improvement. Overall: If you were working with Anvil cases before, this product is a much "welcome" relief, mainly because of the lack of weight. I applaud the SKB efforts. It looks indestructible but the lid never aligns correctly requiring me to take time to "fix" the lid over the case. I just bought this case in May (4mths ago). There were 4 latches and now there are only 2. The other 2 broke off. for $400-$500 dollars, this case is as delicate as toilet paper. It would have been cheaper to have a case custom made for my 88key es90. I only bought this case because gator did not make one quite long enough for my keyboard to fit. Value: ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! Desirability: It's not appealing at all. It's not sleek, it's utilitarian, bulky, and there was no thought in the design. I am trying to get gator to make me a custom case. Ease of Use: The case is hard to close. I had a gator case for my 88 keyboard and although the fit was snug, it easily closed and latched. Value: The best if your on a budget or not. Desirability: It's ok; but I'm more concerned with how a product works and the DBX 160A works well. Sound: I used it for the mains and wow, it does a super job at compressing peaks. I can't desrcibe the sound to as you have to listen to it because it sounded so good. People never knew I was using a compressor and thought I was a very good sound man. But give DBX credit too; what a super compressor. Ease of Use: At first I used recommended settings and it worked just fine. As I used it more, I had my own settings. Not hard to use at all. Support: I wouldn't know. Could also be configured to do some cool AGC but place a true limiter after it. As most owners will agree the expander is a joke. It really is more like a gate and not a great one either. Not output meter just gain reduction. No power switch on this unit or the 166 either. I don't know if this is just poor design or a statment that the product was built to be left on with out worry. Quality: It's DBX so the compents inside can't be that crappy, and it doesn't make compressed audio sound crappy. I bought mine used but the expander makes a low pop when closing. Don't know if thats just how its made or if its just mine. Value: No way! I am glad I didn't pay for it new. Budget gear or not my Samson S-com plus trumps this thing and cost less new. Desirability: The darkest unit in my rack besides some vent plates. As I stated before my freakin S-com plus out does this thing. It is still better than a Alesis 3630. Sound: It doesn't hurt my audio fidelity wise. Not really good as a limiter. This unit likes to pump a lot. Ease of Use: This compressor doesn't label the ms. on its attack and release controls. Instead it has slow and fast so there is a lot of guess work to be done. Support: Never used it Overall: Seen better, own better. If someone stole or it broke I would replace it with an S-com plus. Used it for both vocal and instrument recordings, and the result was excellent. Without a preamp, the recorded sound didn't requir eq when mixing. One of the least useful featuresis the Quality: The BP50 is a very reliable and quality made product. There are no loose parts or defects. The product is compact and is made for use on the road. Value: I think this product is worth more than its retail value. Desirability: It is very appealing and the design is great. It looks really cool. Sound: The sound quality is very good and fully customizable. The only problem I have is the octavider and the harminizers can be out of tune. I think it sounds better in recording, because after you record it, you can add the finishing touches. Support: I cannot say anything about the service and support because I've never had to call anybody. Its never needed service and has always worked well. Overall: I'll probably be satisfied with this product for a good 5 to 7 years. After a year or so I'll want to step up to a more expensive product that has more effects. I actually chose this product becauseit worked very well and was inexpensive. If the product was stolen from me, I'd buy another one.
