I can either use heel/toe method on it or just leave my foot up in the air and use only my toes. Overall: This thing is great. I will love it for years and if you buy it too you will love it forever this thing is great. I can play alot faster now and with quick response. I was pleasantly surprised at the level of ingenuity on dw’s part. While I do have some issues with the setup, for the price you can’t beat it. (Pun not intended) The Go Anywhere Practice Pad Set was not overwhelmingly user friendly. There were multiple parts, washers, and adjustments that needed to be made, although no tools were required aside from the drum key provided. I was happy to see that the kick pad accepted double bass pedal setups. Overall the setup felt as comfortable as you could expect a practice pad rig to feel. I set mine up with a hi-hat, snare, ride cymbal, and floor tom. My only real disappointment with the set is the hi-hat rod did not seem quite long enough to setup directly to the left of the snare. I could shorten the snare rod and get it pretty close, but I was too close to the kick pedal to play comfortably. Aside from the hi-hat I felt like the kick pad was a little too bouncy to feel realistic. Overall the pros of this set (mostly the price) far outweigh the cons. Just for a kick and snare pad of this quality you’re looking at $70-80. For $130 you get 5 pads and all the hardware to mount it! I would highly recommend this Go Anywhere Practice Pad Set to anyone in the market for silent practice at home, or a portable warm-up tool. FYI: get Mogami gold XLR to TRS cables, virtually no degradation of sound. Overall: The best investment I've made in my studio so far. If you're trying to design a relatively inexpensive project studio I wouldn't trust anything else. As with anything, there is a rolloff curve with price to performance. If you spend half of what you spend on these, you will have a significantly worse sounding product, whereas if you spend 20 times what you spend on these, the improvement in sound quality will only be noticeable to the most distinguishing of engineers. These speakers, as little as they may be sound 10 times bigger, just as detailed and honest to the recording as anything I have ever heard. The bottom is wonderful deep full and full of punch. The mids and highs are perfect, no listener fatigue what so ever. I listened for about an hour after I hooked them up and the next day had a long 5+ hour nonstop session with no fatigue at all...In fact I was looking for more tracks to listen too. Ease of Use: The High/Low level, mid/high/lf controls are just an added plus. Really in most rooms they will never be used but having them their means you should be able to suit these gems to any room. No comment otherwise. Quality: The quality is excellent. The only thing I would reccmend is to use a cover of some sort to protect the finish which is a fuzzy type of material simular to the early "SWR" combos. This amp is very road worthy. Sound: This is the best sounding combo that I have auditioned as of yet. I have used many bass combos in the past but this seems to be superior with power, warmth and cleanliness for a combo 2x10 configuration. I am a former SWR user and they are great amps also but there is no comparison when it comes to this unit in the combo line. The only thing thats come close was one of the "Nemesis" series. Better than Aguilar and SWR in my opinion. You can get snap and great tone from a 4x10 or 2x12 and then add a 1x15 or 1x18 (all Eden of course) to get a ballsy low end. The one amp you will not regret. Desirability: Old school boutique look without the boutique attitude. Sound: It's all about the tone. Very reliable, however, follow the instructions because this amp draws alot of power. Plug it into its own 15 amp circuit to get the full tone. Unbelievable tone. I would urge all fellow bassists (sans endorsers) to turn a blind eye to this product, purchase a comparable Ampeg Pro Series amp, and pocket the hundreds of dollars you'll save. The fact that it's bus-powered is great -- and though I was worried about using it this way, it works just fine. The FA-101 doesn't have a lot of gimmicky features, but the features it does have are quality. I really like the fact that this is simple, rock solid, and simply works. Quality: So far, it seems great, although I've only had it a week! It's solid, metal, and seems very well-built. I used it for a gig without AC power and it performed like a champ. Value: For 10 in/10 out firewire, this is a steal. It's also a heck of a lot easier to cart around than an 828 (although the 828s do offer more). Desirability: It's wireless and red :-) Sound: The preamps are very clean, and everything sounds great (especially at 24/92). My only complaint is that the mic preamps are a bit quiet - I find myself usually having to crank up to highest sensitivity. Support: I have not yet dealt with Edirol, so no comment. Overall: I expect to use this for a long time. The preamp's not such a big deal as I can use an external preamp or mixer. I has a lot of features. I really like it's EQ features -- it gives you a TON more control than an analog mixer... and I get to see what's going on right there on the display on the mixer. I especially like the Acoustic Room Control feature. This works very well. It was like night and day. I didn't know what I was missing -- the sound is so much more clear now, it's hard to believe how muddy it used to be. Quality: Very good features, but a little bit noisy. I think that can be worked around though, and actually the noise is not any worse than my last mixer which was an analog mixer. Sound: The reason I give the sound an 8 is because with the gain turned all the way up, this mixer adds a noticeable amount of noise. Ease of Use: Very easy to use. Excellent. Overall: Very good value. It's almost worth it just for the Acoustic Room Control, but also the EQ. I haven't tried the microphone preamps yet so i can't tell you what those are like. Although there is an xlr plug, a 1/4 inch switched guitar/mic plug and an 1/8 inch mic plug they are all run off of the guitar/mic volume control. only one can be operated at a time, the default being the switched guitar mic plug. This means I have to run any other equipment through the stereo inputs on the rear with another mixer. It kind of defeats the purpose of having a variety of mic inputs. Quality: Plastic but well built. I own an ederol r1 that is built out of the same stuff and it has held up on the road for over 2 years. Value: Good value. I just wish that the operations were made a little clearer in the description. You can't play a chord on any of the settings except for the clean guitar signal. On the other settings, it's essentially just distortion. Value: This pedal is not worth the money at all.
